Exciting news for Buckeye! As someone who loves seeing our Arizona communities grow, I’m thrilled to share that on September 22, Buckeye’s planning commission unanimously supported rezoning about 2,700 acres for a brand-new master-planned community. This area, near Sun Valley Parkway and Thomas Road, could bring around 11,600 new homes—think single-family homes, townhomes, and apartments—plus 30 to 155 acres set aside for nonresidential spaces. With Buckeye already home to more than 30 approved master-planned communities and even more in the works, it’s clear this city is booming. Planners expect over 240,000 homes and a population topping one million within the next 20 years! Each new village is set to reserve about 18% of its space for parks (love that for families and outdoor fun), and while there are still some questions about data center sites, part of the project already has a 100-year assured groundwater supply. Next stop: Buckeye’s city council for the final decision. Watching our hometown flourish is always an adventure!
